Our competitive team is built around ALL team members and their strengths and talents. We allow our team members to compete in the styles they choose. We offer competitive dance in tap, jazz, lyrical, contemporary, and hip hop. We are a young team and take pride in offering our competition level to all dancers no matter your background.

At Lakiah Wilson's Academy of Dance we offer one competition team and focus on all of the dancers at the same level. We build our team around a “family” mentality and focus not only on dance and technique but building friendships, memories, and positive self esteem.

To Our LWAD Parents,

Thank you for your interest in our competitive dance program. At LWAD, we pride ourselves on fostering a strong, family-like atmosphere. We believe in forming ONE team, where all dancers, regardless of level, contribute their unique strengths to create dynamic performances.
As both a mother and studio director, I understand the importance of balance. We encourage dancers to explore other activities and aim to prevent burnout, fostering a love for dance that lasts a lifetime.

At the start of the season, we will discuss each dancer’s commitment level, and they will have the opportunity to choose the styles in which they’d like to compete. We offer various solo, duo, and group options to suit each dancer’s preferences.
​
Please note, that the monthly fees are estimates and may vary depending on choreography needs and class sizes. Additional routines outside of what we offer will incur extra choreography costs, and competition fees will be billed separately.

We are excited to work with your dancer, helping them grow not only as a performer but also as a well-rounded individual.
